Ethanol & Waste Recycling
VISIT OUR WEBSITE DEDICATED TO ETHANOL RECYCLING!
MXI owns and operates a Distilled Spirits Plant (DSP) in Abingdon Virginia adjacent to our other facilities. The DSP is capable of recycling over 15,000 gallons of liquids containing alcohol and 20,000 gallons of wastewater a day. The DSP gives MXI the ability to take in waste streams containing alcohol and recapture ethanol using distillation. The liquid is processed onsite with a molecular sieve into fuel grade ethanol. Recently, we have added synthetic ethanol to our vast amount of capabilities. The technical description of the process is available in the resources section.
We are the premier service provider for alcohol reuse due to our ability to fully recycle excess materials into fuel grade ethanol and distilled water. We are turning waste into renewable fuels. Latex Paint Recycling
In 2013, MXI began its Latex Paint Recycling program. Less than one year the firm announced the opening of their state-of-the-art Latex Paint Recycling program. MXI now offers latex recycling to all current and potential HHW clients. Our latex recovery process involves trained technicians opening and segregated every can of paint based on color and quality. The paint is treated to be reused for commercial resale and for reblending by other paint manufacturers as refined raw material.
In partnership with Legacy Paint, MXI will install the infrastructure to package and distribute a line of commercial grade latex paint to be sold in the US.
MXI is a certified vendor of the Paintcare program, which is sponsored by the American Coatings Association to recycle unused paints and coatings. MXI aims to grow the Latex Paint Recycling program and open our own line of recycled paints. See our web page dedicated to latex paint recycling at www.latexpaintrecycling.com.
Beer & Alcohol Recycling
MXI’s Transportation Department, MRF, and Ethanol Recycling Division work together to offer secure full-scale destruction and reprocessing of consumer products containing alcohol. Beer disposal is our feature service. Our beer disposal services include beer in bottles, cans, kegs, and any other pressurized containers.
MXI will also destroy and recycle:
- Sugary Beverages
- Perfume and cologne
- Sunblock and sunscreen
- Industrial productions
- And much more!
Aerosol recycling is another service MXI is proud to offer. In conjuncture with a third party engineering firm, MXI has procured a customer designed machine that is capable of crushing aerosol cans, capturing the contents, scrubbing the noxious gasses, and reusing the empty can. Waste recovery of aerosol canisters is a unique ability of MXI, and the company is proud to be able to recycle canisters in a clean and environmentally friendly manner. The technicians separate the aerosols by their waste characterization codes. The two primary groups are flammables and pesticides. Each is bulked separately and the liquid is sent out with the full bulk shipments on tankers.
